Women Empowerment

Women’s participation in social, political and economic development is very important. TTRC started women savings groups in 2010 to promote saving habits. These groups are formed to discuss various problems at the personal or neighborhood level and find solutions. Groups can also call emergency meetings to discuss an individual problem. Save money every month according to your status and capicity and solve the financial problems you have through the savings money. The group started solving their problems by using the total savings – a member can apply for a loan after one year of savings. Members recommendation is mandatory for availing loan. With the members consent, the member applicant can request up to three times the amount saved.

This loan is for home improvement, education expenses, and purchase of kitchen utensils, health or any kind of economic development. The loan limit was fixed at Rs. 5000 – 30,000. 1146 women group got loans of 20 lakh rupees. 20,298,105/- 17,801,600/- has been recovered if the past record is clean, members have applied for loan multiple times. Efforts are being translated into practice. Women’s savings groups organized social and development work through cooperative approaches. Such as sanitation solutions, water supply through well drilling, home improvement and various training.
