TTRC’s involvement in the education program, initiated in 1997 when OPP-RTI was providing support to small schools of Orangi, Baldia and other towns through small grants. OPP-RTI’s Education Program supported schools on request basis. TTRC’s job was to physically survey the applicant school, assess and verify the needs in light of the submitted application.

TTRC carried out surveys, prepared existing and proposed plans and supervised the construction and improvement work, thereafter documentation of improved work. 540 small scale schools have been provided financial and technical support through this program. TTRC observed the schools closely through this program and steered into a new direction, forming School Saving and Cooperative Groups (SSCG).
